Absolutism is a form of government in which all power is vested in a single ruler or other authority. In the French Revolution over 25,000 people died because they did not support their government. Absolutism gives the people no right to make choices, or live their life freely. Only one individual is to rule and have all the say in what goes on in the country. In most cases absolutism leads to violence blood shed and terror. In the feudal times people do not know any better they are brainwashed to think that the ruler is always making the correct choices and not to doubt him. Individuals are lead to believe that this is the way of life and that this is the way god wanted it to be.
Absolutism places individuals in classes or as known in feudal times “Estates”. The First estate is the Clergy; they are the wealthiest and most thought of estate. They believe everything that occurs is by the will of God. The Second Estate is the Middle Class workers and business men. They are usually the individuals that work in the urban areas. The Last Estate is called the “Third Estate”. The third estate is made up of the serfs and the peasants. They have no money, pay heavy taxes, and have no healthy life style. Absolutism places people in unfair categories and causes discrimination among the nation. When Absolutism is put in place it causes chaos, mass hysteria…just think of a horrible word….
