On September 11, 2001 United States was attacked, hijacked airplanes hit the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon outside Washington. This horrific attack on our freedom destroyed two buildings called the Twin Towers in New York City killing innocent people. When you look at the picture “9-11 Terror in America” you see what’s left from the aftermath of the assault on our freedom. Two tall buildings were destroyed, people were killed and many things were changed since that day. First, 9/11 was tremendous day in which many people died and many more hurt. Second, security was a huge issue around the world since that day. Last but not least, Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda the terrorist group bear responsibility for the attack and that’s not everything they have planned for the United States.
The picture “9/11 Terror in America” has a good view on what was left after the two buildings collapsed. Dust all over the city, people looking for the loved ones, firefighters trying to find survivors underneath the ruins of the towers. The picture shows parts of the building still standing, the day in New York was grim, people did not know who survived and who was buried underneath the buildings. This sad picture also shows the street intersection where lights are still standing. Dust, fumes smoke were in the air, ashes from burned furniture, cars that were smashed and burned from this huge explosion. South and North towers one after the other were falling on the street of New York. Rescue teams, firefighters, paramedics, police officers and volunteers were helping each other to save lives, recovering bodies from the twisted remnants of the Twin Towers.
That day of the attack, the entire world was shocked. No one was expecting that terrorists attack.
South Tower and North Tower were both World Trade Center building similar to Chicago’s Merchandise Mart Properties. Comparing both, twin towers had 110 stories and MMP has only 25,big difference but these buildings had the same business of commercial enterprise. The Twin Towers were the profit and pride to New York City collapsed under the attack of evil. When two passenger planes were used as missiles to destroy them. Similar to the Kamakazi attacks of World War Two. Thousands of lives were violently twisted with grief and horror when the news of attack was broadcast on national television. The entire attack was broadcast on every channel, all details of what was happening was broadcast. Viewers were informed and shocked, buildings were on fire things were falling and people were jumping from the tall skyscrapers. People panicked, did not know what to do or how to find out about the close ones who might have been on one of the planes or worked inside the Twin Towers. When I was watching the news I was really shocked, I was glued to the details of the news coverage CNN, I couldn’t keep my eyes of the television as I watched in aw. I couldn’t believe that both building were going down. People were jumping from towers trying to escape the smoke and heat from the jet fuel. In addition, some of the occupants of each tower above its point of impact made their way upward toward the roof in hope of helicopter rescue. But when they reached the top the access door was locked, people were trapped and none of them survived. That was very tragic and unexpected attack for Entire Country. Many innocent and precious lives were killed on September 11.
The United States government is determined that Islamic terrorist group Al-Qaeda led by Osama bin Laden is responsible for the attacks. That group hijacked four airplanes that were meant to destroy United States symbolic, buildings like Twin towers and Pentagon, but the forth airplane crashed into Pennsylvania\'s’ fields which might have been targeting the Sears Tower. These terrorists knew very well what they were doing and were proud of doing so. The group was well organized knew all the details and were well trained for this attack. Because of September 11, the United States Government sent troops to Afghanistan in search of Osama bin Laden.
September 11, 2001 changed many things, led into improving our security around world. For example, all airports had their polices but after the terrorist attack they became more strict. Companies need to go through certain process in which social security need to be in files, criminal record must be checked and there’s no exception. It’s the same for travelers, all bags need to be checked for bombs and other possible dangerous items that can threaten our safety. United States was in shock, the entire nations gas prices went up. People thought end of the world its coming, everyone was worried. Like that picture dust, fumes and rescue teams remains in people’s minds. Everyone was worried, as was I, terrorist may destroy the entire nation and it may look worse than New York City, things could be worse. But I have faith in our country and we will prevail over the evil of terrorism.
