The internet is a very sensitive situation that needs to be dealt with and thought through carefully. It is not one of the safest places in the world even though people can enjoy it from their homes. With the internet your own home can be the most dangerous place in the world.
The internet has so much information that if it gets in the wrong hands then the out come will not turn out to be very good. To make things fair not all of the information on the internet is bad; some of it is good for projects or general knowledge. Without it some of my projects and papers would never come out as good as they have. But when children get on the internet then they might come across some information they do not need to see. Some students across the world found sites on how to make homemade bombs and other weapons, and decided to use them against others at school. Having too much information on the internet is harmful enough, but this kind of information the internet has is putting people in danger. The internet is giving information on homemade weapons, blueprints to peoples homes, and other personal information about people who think the internet is safe. Even something like your identity can be stolen from the internet. Especially now people are dealing with identify theft. “In 2003 around ten million people were effected by identity theft, the loses were five billion dollars from individuals and forty seven billion dollars from businesses”. When people try to buy things off of the internet, to get that specific item they would have to put all their information to get the item their name, address, and credit card number. With those few things someone can go and rob your house, steal money from a credit card, or just steal the persons identify all together. With identity theft a criminal can start a bank account get credit cards and the only person it would effect is the one that got their identity stolen. The internet is giving people information, personal and non-personal that just does not need to be given. The internet is a very dangerous place with too much general and personal information that ends up in the wrong hands; that will end up to be used in a harmful manner.
The internet needs to be monitored at all times, places, and every computer. With so many dangerous aspects the internet needs to be monitored. To make sure that the internet is used safely and wisely, there should be a team of people that has a connection to every computer in America. When something goes wrong then they will have a button to shut that computer down. By something, I am talking about if there are suspicious acts or if someone is hacking into an account and needs to be stopped; also if people are one certain website that will danger the lives of them selves and others around them, like how to make a bomb. With all the different things someone can find on the internet it need to be monitored to assure safety for everyone.. For research on this paper, I went on their internet to see if I could find a site on homemade weapons. I could be trying to harm someone or myself and there is noone around to even try and stop what I am doing. I did find a site on how to make homemade bombs, grande, and other dangerous items. If it were not for this paper who knows what I could be trying to do to myself or the people around me. The internet needs to be monitored by someone at every cost. If the internet is monitored then there is no telling how many internet related deaths we will have. Having a team of people monitor the internet to this degree can only help the lives and safety of everyone. Without the being monitored there is no telling how dangerous people can start to get. Criminals are smarter than we think; just when we think we have figured out all their ways, they think of smarter and sneakers ways to harm innocent people.
The internet is dangerous for rapes victims across America. The telephone lets people connect with others in a very good way. People only talk to who they know or who they want to know. On the phone someone has to have your number to get in contact and people can give it to whom ever they want or they don’t have to give it away at all. With the connection of the internet and having to have the opportunity to talk to a perfect stranger and not know how dangerous this person can be is why innocent people are victims of rape each year. Chatting is a fun way to meet new people or just a new fun way to chat with people you already know. But on some occasions this can get out of hand . The situations are all the same. People chat with someone for a couple of days and really start to “get to know” a person, the only thing is that this person is lying about who they are. Then the person that is not who they say they are ask if the two people should meet in person. The chatters will meet only to see that one of the chatters is not a sixteen year old girl like she said she was but a thirty year old man. Then finally there is another molestation or rape in this country. According to the United States Justice Department, “a woman is getting raped every two minutes. Lots of those women meet the person that raped them on the internet and decided to meet up with them”. Telephones are the only way to go. One of the first things a parents teaches their child is to not talk to strangers. So is chatting with them on the internet the same? Yes, it is like taking candy from a strange man in an ally, just don’t do it. But there is always those kids that can not resist a good piece of candy. That is why the internet should not have chat rooms and people should only communicate through phones. If the internet is going to connect people with other people then it should be just like the telephone; Only connect you with people you know. If chatting is reduced to only the people the chatter knows then the rape rate in this country will decrease dramatically.
The internet is a wonderful place, but it has huge flaws. The internet needs to be restricted not saying to shut the internet down completely, but to censor it so it can be safe for everyone. The difference between life and death could only be a key stroke away. The internet can or in some cases cant be a very good place and needs to be censored. If the internet is censored then life is always a click away.
