The poem Beowulf contained mostly fighting and chilling scenes that are popular in today’s society. For example, movies that are in the scary or action/adventure genre make more money because people like to see others getting killed, being brave, or terrified. Another example is even though Beowulf is in different time periods audiences can still relate to the various characters. Good vs. evil amuses audiences that is why the media loves to discuss good and evil “guys” in society and cinema.
Man-eating monsters, fairy-tales, and out of this world scenes are all unrealistic but nevertheless interesting. A lot of films like that are always in the eye of the media or tabloids. The public is fond of shocking endings in films or any topic in media. For instance, when Beowulf fights his lat battle, when you are reading you first think he is going to win. Then Beowulf loses and he dies, but you would think he would at least survive.
Finally, people around the world has grown accustom of Beowulf because of the entertainment and genre that it convey. Violence is wrong but people pay for it and are very use to it. Nowadays action and thriller genre with hero/villain, are models of the timeless poem Beowulf for the reason that it is entertaining.
