Marriage has been around since the beginning of time, as we know it, it has

been established with man and woman as partners. When a man betroths a women it

is a union for a life time and is ordained by God. Because by this union they can fulfill



Gods commandments Black’s Law Dictionary defines the word marriage as a “legal

union of one man and one women as husband and wife”(‘marriage 867 ). Many regard Black’s Law dictionary as the legal dictionary of the

United States. The definition goes on to say marriage is a “legal status, conditions, or

relation of one man and one women united in law for life or until divorce, for the

discharge to each other and community of the duties legally incumbent on those

association is founded on the distinction of sex” (Marriage 876) I believe that same sex

marriage should be banned from not only the Untied States but all around the world as

well. ~Thesis

My religion is a strong factor in this debate of homosexuality in Genesis it clearly

states “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,

and they will become one flesh.” (The Holy Bible) I believe this statement explains what

God had intended for marriage. .John Edmiston a missionary bible teacher who has been in full-time ministry says “As God was creating us he made Adam in his own
image, and he made Eve a women as Adams partner not two Adams or Eves, two of

the opposite sex.” I believe that John explained it well, that man and woman are meant to be conjected. (John Edmiston)

Some of the gay marriage battle lies in politics. Politics play an important role in

the side chosen to support. The Majority of Republicans, including our President,

George W. Bush, do not support same-sex marriage. The Democratic stance favors

same-sex marriages. Republicans, who are traditionally conversations, look at the issue

from more liberal and support gay marriages. Church versus state plays an important
role in the gay marriage battle. Those who want the separation of the church and state

are generally for gay-marriage. Allowing religion in schools and government symbolizes

what the church stands for and its moral values. Many aspects play important roles in

the battle of gay-marriage.

The Civil Union act, a new institution that allows same-sex marriage to make a

public commitment to living together and respect rights and obligations. it allows gays

to have the benefits with out getting married. The same civil legal recognition of their

commitment as other married couples while respecting religious freedom. The preamble

to the bill sets out the reasons the Government of Canada is moving forward with the

bill. ( Civil Union ) The bill also recognizes that freedom of religion is already fully





protected by the charter of Rights and freedoms. as confirmed by the Supreme Court of

Canada in its recent decision. That is why its title speaks of civil marriage. Religions will

continue to make their own decisions about this question.

Same.-sex marriage is growing rapidly, and is destroying the word family , the Bible is against homosexuality, a book that many family base their morals on. and

has described gay as a sin. marriage for the children sake, should be protected by strict

guidelines. An introspect to gay marriage is the all around well being for the child psychological and emotional well being. studies have shown heterosexual relationships in marriage provide a more stable foundation for your family and yourself, this is why I would banned gay marriage from not only the united states but also around the world.
